From the board president to the Friday morning bread pickup — it's all people who care about their neighbors. We'd love your help.
Signing up is easy. Here's the process from start to first shift:
Complete our volunteer application — available online as a Google Form or a downloadable PDF.
All new volunteers attend a short orientation session. We'll walk you through the pantry, the procedures, and your role.
Choose shifts that fit your life — morning, evening, weekly, or occasional. The volunteer coordinator will work with you.
There's a role for every schedule and skill set. Here are some of the ways volunteers keep the pantry running:
Serve clients, stock shelves, receive donations during open hours
Greet and sign in clients, complete paperwork (must be 21+)
Scheduled pickups from Giant, Walmart, Target — weekly commitment
Restock serving freezers, sort and label meat deliveries
Pack client bags by family size ahead of open shifts — flexible hours
Pick up donations from schools and post offices, sort and shelve
Regular morning runs to Target, Walmart, Giant for donated bread
Data entry, phone messages, reports, forms — must be 21+
Organize storage and shopping shelves — Tue/Wed/Thu, 9:30–11:30 AM
Open and close pantry, assign duties, guide volunteers, make decisions
Post updates, coordinate with newspapers and community groups
Keep the front and back clear for client and volunteer safety
Churches, scout troops, school clubs, and corporate teams are welcome. Groups currently supporting the pantry include Rotary Club, Moms & Muscles, Grace Bible Fellowship, Triple C Nursery, and East Swamp Life Group.
Groups can help with financial donations, gift cards, food drives, or regular shift coverage. Email us at quakertownfoodpantry@gmail.com to set up your group.
